Re: Just dropping by to say...

Oof, I hope your day gets better!

I'm not sure exactly why Winter Tide is so soothing to me; can never quite pinpoint it. I can, however, give a necessarily incomplete rundown of things I love about it!

- To start with, the whole premise of spiteficcing Lovecraft. WHY DO SO FEW PEOPLE DO THIS???
- Aphra herself is just...grand. Brave, dignified and humble; though never so perfect as to seem unreal, either.
- Aeonist culture and religion! I always love fictional culture exploration done well, and you do it excellently.
- The moment in flashback when Aphra first meets Mama Rei. ("You've been hiding in here. What do you need?" Life goals.)
- Meeting someone by pure chance and then a few weeks later being like I WOULD DIE FOR THIS PERSON THEY ARE FAMILY NOW is something I know from my own life!
- "If I wanted [adventure], I'd go chasing after you every time you do crazy things." APHRA. APHRA DO YOU MAKE A HABIT OF THIS. HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU PULLED OFF SOMETHING STUPIDLY BRAVE AND DANGEROUS.
- Caleb and Dawson's flirting is consistently adorable.
- The kids of Innsmouth made up a jump rope song about the Waite body theft incident, because of course they did.
- THE FOOD.
