Writing progress, or lack thereof
Feb. 28th, 2005 04:48 pmWell, I didn't get nearly as much done this weekend as I'd hoped. I did manage to get "Memorial" as close to ready as I'm likely to--when I find myself putting in 'the' on one go-round and taking it out on the next, I know I'm at the point of diminishing returns. This one goes out into the world by tomorrow's post. Good luck to my baby.
On Sunday I wasn't in the right headspace to work on my other useful projects, but did end up adding about a page to my Penny Dreadful File. The PDF is the it-doesn't-have-to-be-good-you-just-have-to-keep-typing story of Victorian gentleman-adventurer Darcy. (Darcy doesn't have a last name yet, but when it's eventually hissed by some mustachioed villain I trust it will be something suitably posh.) So far he's been hypnotized, rejected by his girfriend, and almost eaten by two separate giant sea serpents. He's lost his trousers and two shirts, but not his inborn British dignity. Sometimes it's fun to be able to ignore little things like plot, word choice, and basic continuity. All my adjectives come out to play!
