I will stop second-guessing my word count estimates, because I'm done! If I have time for editing, I will try and get it to my beta readers before Psychonomics.
Also, as of this morning, this one has turned into another short-story-that-is-also-the-first-chapter-of-a-novel. Probably because the best way I can think of to end a short story is usually with people deciding to do something interesting. This is not necessarily the actual best way to end a short story. It just happens to be my idea of a happy ending.
