Scene finished: 3 of them, but the current one leaves off in the middle.

This is a new short story, one that I'm hoping will go relatively quickly. I've actually got an outline, and I'm a little under halfway through the list of scenes. It's another hard soft SF piece, so it should be a good follow-up submission with Analog if it works. I hope it works--it's fairly quiet, even for me. All about what personality uploads do and don't do, given that no real-world technology is ever actually perfect.

The train of thought that led to this story started with [livejournal.com profile] papersky's description of mummy pigment. I began speculating about SFnal burial customs, and this was what fell out.
