Thud Catch-Up: 1/10-1/15

tavadriel and Ib have been and left. Tavi and I did our words in solidarity together, so I stayed caught up all weekend.

Mean Things: Stupid monogamy tricks, stupid polyamory tricks, maternal abandonment, Ancient Masters of Atlantis playing girl detective
Possible Excuses Not to Write: Guests visiting, missing guests after they leave, head cold
Other Things Accomplished: Except for cooking dinners, not a lot. Went to the Field Museum, role-played, had fun and good company.

I am at that lovely point where the subplots start to weave back together and everything briefly makes sense. They will fly apart again soon enough--they're supposed to--but it's a nice feeling.

The semester starts tomorrow, so we'll see if I can keep this up. I'm going to try and figure out a good word count goal for school-related stuff, too, so I can get novels and tenure.

I finally got to read the double issue of Analog. WOO!!!!!! Exposure Therapy: awesome!

(I actually think about this, too. I'm a (hypothetical) xenophile with a bug aversion, and in my alien daydreams I often wonder what will happen if first contact is with some kind of insectoid race.)
